Document how SpacemiT boards are flashed when the bootloader lives in SPI NOR flash. These boards may not boot from removable media, so the image is written to the UFS storage with SpacemiT's TitanFlasher over USB.

The new section in Writing the image covers:

  • splitting the Armbian image into bootfs and rootfs partition images
  • loading the vendor firmware package in TitanFlasher and replacing only those two partitions,
  • keeping the SPI NOR bootloader in place, and restoring it only when the vendor firmware must be updated,
  • the 4 KiB sector requirement of the UFS.

Two screenshots show the TitanFlasher partition list and the partition file dialog.
The section is written for SpacemiT boards in general the Firefly AIBOX-K3 is used as the example.

Tested on a Firefly AIBOX-K3.

Walkthrough

The getting-started guide adds steps to prepare and flash an AIBOX-K3 image to UFS with TitanTools and TitanFlasher. It describes entering USB download mode, replacing the bootfs and rootfs partitions, and completing the flash before disconnecting or powering off. It also documents optional SPI NOR bootloader restoration, the 4 KiB sector requirement, and vendor documentation links. The introductory sentence no longer has trailing whitespace.

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes

Change: Other

Merge Risk: Minimal · previous review 77de9

This documentation-only change adds a guide for flashing SpacemiT boards to UFS with TitanFlasher. The earlier problems with the broken code fence, sector size, USB port, link and wait-for-completion step are corrected in the current text. No concrete merge-blocking issue remains. The exact TitanFlasher partition-row behavior is unconfirmed, and the author tested on an AIBOX-K3.
