@jasonwilliams I thought I would want to revive this project again :)

The first step is to make the CONTRIBUTING.md actually followable by temporarily pinning the versions under test.

I would love to update all of it, but I think this needs some smaller steps first.

Feel free to change this PR however it suits your needs.
